The SBAA’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be taking place in Waterfront Park next Saturday, April 15th!!! The Egg Hunt is “the” premier spring event of the year, and you and your kids won’t want to miss it. The fun starts at 10:30 A.M., and kids of all ages, even those who are in high school, are welcome. Please bring your own bags or baskets. Kids who are three years of age and under should meet on the south end of Waterfront Park, (next to the Yacht Club at Sister Bay), and all the other kids should meet by the playground. I heard from a very good source that the Easter Bunny will again be making an appearance, so don’t forget your cameras!!! Of course, Olga and I will also be around. We’ve been recruited to hide eggs, and will certainly take all the help we can get if you feel like coming up here early. . . It’s my understanding that donations of individually wrapped candy would be greatly appreciated.

Governor Walker has declared April 17 – 21, 2017 as Wisconsin’s Tornado & Severe Weather Awareness Week, and schools, businesses, and families have two opportunities to test their emergency plans on April 20th!!!! (That is when Wisconsin Emergency Management, the National Weather Service and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association will be sponsoring statewide tornado drills.) A mock tornado “watch” will be issued at 1:00 P.M., followed by a statewide mock tornado “warning” at 1:45 P.M. Many radio and TV stations across the state will issue the test tornado “warnings”. In addition, mock alerts will be issued on NOAA weather radios and many communities will sound their tornado sirens to test their emergency severe weather plans. Another mock tornado “warning” will be issued at 6:45 P.M. to give families and second shift workers a chance to practice their emergency plans. I would like to encourage all of you guys to participate in the tornado drills. One can never be too prepared. . .
