Hello!!! Well, by all accounts the “Beach Bash” Grand Opening Celebration was a huge success!!! My friend, Tonya, told me that there were record numbers of folks who attended “Paddlefest”, the ribbon cutting ceremony was very nice, Husby’s team was crowned champions of the the volleyball tournament, and a donation of $200 will be made to the Gibraltar Girls Volleyball Team in their honor. Mother Nature also cooperated, and we got to enjoy a fantastic fireworks display. There were all kinds of people in Sister Bay on Saturday, and it warmed my heart to see such big crowds up here. Speaking of the ribbon cutting ceremony, I was very impressed with the excellent job Mary Bondasen and the members of the Gibraltar High School Choir – Hayden Hoffman, Jack Weitman, Hadley Reetz, Madilynn Clayton, Elizabeth Henry, Cassidy Stark, Rachel Follingstad, Andrea Mejia, and Lia Smith did on the National Anthem. Way to go guys!!!! Thanks also to Bill Becker and Garey Bies, who did an excellent job of presenting the colors. Olga was very impressed – There were lots of dignitaries up here, and she was asked to pose for all kinds of photos. Jeremy Ashauer from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was her favorite. . . She thinks he’s really cute. . .
Wednesday’s Concert In The Park, which starts at 6:00 P.M., features, “Elastic Waist Banned”. They play classic rock music, and their concerts are really good!!! There will also be a concert conducted on the Sister Bay Stage at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 9th. The featured band at that concert will be “Trout Steak Revival”, a Colorado Bluegrass band. I love Bluegrass music!!! Thanks to Wednesday’s concert sponsor, Going Garbage and Recycling, and Saturday’s concert sponsors, Island Orchard Cider and Vanden Heuvel & Dineen, SC!!!
The weekly Farmer’s Markets are back at The Corner of the Past!!! The markets are conducted on Saturday mornings, and there will be many choice offerings, confirming that summer really has arrived. Today’s Heritage Program features Gary Chaudoir’s fused glass. You won’t want to miss that show. . . Olga told me that she needs, wants, and has to have one of Gary’s sun catchers. . .

Here’s how to play…
A very cute likeness of me will be hiding in participating Sister Bay business locations from June 11th – September 30th.

Find the likeness of me at the featured retailers and collect a stamp on your “Sven Passport”. (Passports are available on the SBAA’s website, at the Visitor Center, and at participating businesses).
After you have collected stamps from all of the featured retailers for the month, bring your passport to the Sister Bay Visitor Center, claim a token and be entered into a monthly drawing to win a corresponding prize package!

My friend, Dick Staver, asked me to remind everybody that the Bays will be playing Egg Harbor at home at 12:30 P.M. tomorrow. It’s a battle for first place, so it should be a great game!!! I hope the Bays are victorious ‘cause “Bay Days” are the best!!!!
Well, I guess that’s all for this week. If you know of any special events which will be occurring in the Village, or would like to have me publicize birthdays or anniversaries of folks who live or work here, please provide that information to my friends in the Village Office at least one week in advance of the special day(s).
Have a great 4th of July!!!!
